Now a Bostonian, Ingrid was born and raised in Missouri where people say she was born singing. Though her passion for song was ignited at a mere 3-years-old, Ingrid's loves remain the same: music, beautiful sounds and undeniable technique.

With an extensive classical background, along with her pop and R&B experience, she is able to apply many techniques to all styles of music. Gerdes is considered one to watch.

Ingrid quickly achieved acclaim as an opera and R&B singer and started winning contests and honors at a young age. Racking up vocalist of the year titles and Best Actress awards to name a few.

After moving to Boston in 2002, she was promptly recognized at the prestigious music school Berklee College for her vocal talents. Chosen as a featured soloist several times as well as being recognized with many other honors. She then began performing with local bands.  Ingrid now writes, records and performs her original music throughout New England and the Midwest with a quickly growing fan base.

Gerdes's original debut album titled, 'The Eclectic Collection,' has received favorable reviews all over the world. A Chicago Sun-Times review calls her "The Next Big Thing." A prominent DJ hails Gerdes as "one of the most interesting and versatile singers on the circuit today, both technically fantastic and true to herself." He also describes her music as, "The smoothness of classic, Motown-era pop; the grit and sex of Southern-soul; the sunshine and swaying feel of reggae; the romantic mood of Eva Cassidy-like sensual ballads - all on a single CD." With original pieces, both personally written and produced, this album epitomizes her appreciation and passion for honest music.

Recent honors include being chosen as The Best Local Band in Boston 2009, chosen as one of Boston's Best Local Performers by WBZ TV and chosen as Singer Universe's Top 5 singers, all for her original material.
Currently in the studio recording her second album, which Gerdes states, "has some hit potential."  Ingrid continues to be acknowledged for her hard work and talent.
